Role Overview

The SAP VIM Consultant is responsible for the design, implementation, upgrade, and support of SAP Vendor Invoice Management (OpenText VIM) integrated with SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA. The role focuses on automating Accounts Payable invoice processing, improving compliance, and supporting finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Implementation

• Design and implement OpenText SAP VIM for AP invoice automation.
• Configure core VIM components:
  • DP (Document Processing)
  • IP (Invoice Processing)
  • OCR integration
  • Approval workflows
• Support ECC 6.0 - S/4HANA migration and dual landscape scenarios.

Integration & Architecture

• Integrate SAP VIM with:
  • SAP FI (AP)
  • MM (PO-based invoicing)
  • SAP ArchiveLink
  • OpenText OCR/Capture Center
• Support IDoc, RFC, and API-based integrations.
• Adapt VIM processes for S/4HANA simplifications (Business Partner, Universal Journal).

Invoice Processing & Finance

• Configure:
  • 2-way/3-way matching
  • Non-PO invoice processing
  • Tolerance handling and exception management
• Optimise AP processes for:
  • Shared Service Centres
  • High-volume invoice environments
• Support multi-company, multi-country invoice processing.

Migration & Upgrade Support

• Support VIM upgrades and compatibility with:
  • S/4HANA (on-premise or private cloud)
  • OpenText VIM for S/4
• Assist with data migration and document migration strategies.
• Ensure continuity of invoice processing during cutover.

Testing, Training & Support

• Lead unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Prepare functional and technical documentation.
• Train AP users and support post-go-live/hypercare.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong hands-on experience with OpenText SAP VIM.
• Experience supporting SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
• Solid knowledge of SAP FI (Accounts Payable) and MM invoice processes.
• Experience with ArchiveLink and document life cycle management.
• Ability to troubleshoot invoice posting, workflow, and OCR issues.

Preferred/Nice to Have

• Experience with ECC to S/4HANA Finance transformations.
• Knowledge of SAP Business Partner and FI simplifications in S/4.
• Experience with SAP Fiori apps for AP/VIM.
• Exposure to SAP Activate or Agile delivery models.
• OpenText VIM certification.

• Strong communication skills with Finance and IT stakeholders.
• Structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently in complex system landscapes.
• Comfortable working in high-volume, business-critical environments.
