This requisition is in anticipation of a contract award.

The Logistics Support Technician is responsible for providing logistics support for the T-1A Aircrew Training Devices (ATD) and maintaining the Inventory Control/Maintenance Recordkeeping system (IC/MR). The Training System Support Center (TSSC) Logistics Support Technician is responsible for performing logistician duties of a wide variety and complex nature, control inventories of all spares and support equipment, and perform all shipping and receiving duties directly supporting the Ground Based Training System (GBTS) T-1A Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) program and the T-1A TSSC Manager.

  • Researches, compiles, formats, and analyzes data from the Inventory Control/Maintenance Recordkeeping System, and vendor data and integrates analysis results into reports to support:
  • Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) predictions.
  • Logistics Support Analysis (LSA).
  • Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analyses.
  • Spares Provisioning Support.
  • Product Improvement Program (PIP).
  • Controls spares inventory of spare parts and support equipment. Conducts inventory of all spares and support equipment. Coordinates shipping and receiving of all spares and support equipment. Conducts IC/MR quality assessments of Spares and support equipment. Is the final checkpoint for all parts entering or leaving the site.
  • Reviews inventory control records and recommends increases and/or decreases to stock levels in coordination with the TSSC Manager.
  • Maintains records on all property, investment, expendable, and test equipment for the T-1A CLS program sites, using the IC/MR.
  • Evaluates requests for additions to the inventory and prepares purchase requests.
  • Performs inventory control duties to include the identification, procurement and stocking of investment and expendable items, and documentation and records maintenance required to support the operation and maintenance of the T-1A ATDs.
  • Performs shipping, receiving and stocking tasks associated with investment and expendable items required to support operations and maintenance of the T-1A ATDs.
  • Supports Purchasing Department by providing timely and accurate status on current received items and items still not received.
  • Performs inventory management functions, including physical inventory of spares, repair parts, tools and test equipment, and maintains inventory records using IC/MR supply tracking system software. Evaluates requests for additions to the inventory and prepares purchase requests.
  • Conducts IC/MR quality assessments of Spares and support equipment.
  • Accomplishes requisitioning actions and maintains due-in, due-out, and status records. Provides support to maintenance functions at T-1A sites. Coordinates with maintenance personnel on repairable component repair actions
  • Provides follow-up on items in the repairable process for current status information to expedite actions.
  • Analyzes the CLS IC/MR System data for failure trends and causes; researches product improvement program recommendations/administration, and cost reduction recommendations.
  • Assists in implementing the management processes which conform to FlightSafety, ISO 2008, and contract requirements.
  • Assembles information and compiles data for routine reports requiring correlation of statistics from one or more sources.
  • Assists in developing and preparing statistical data for projects.
  • Orders and receives office supplies for the CLS as needed.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses procurement records, determines requirements for the receiving, inspecting and routing of components to maintenance department for bench check as required and/or installation.
  • Provides follow-up on items in the repairable process for current status information to expedite actions.
  • Assists in managing and accomplishing emergency spares support activities.
  • Serves as liaison to other support functions of the CLS Site to research and identify spare/repair parts and alternate support sources.
  • Supports the planning and accomplishment of ILS projects and activities.
  • Travels as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform data entry.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory/maintenance recordkeeping systems and logistics processes.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers, software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and report writers.
  • Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check (NAC) by the U.S. Government.

Education and Formal Training:

A high school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree is desired. Business school is desired.

Experience:

Two years of commercial or military experience in inventory management and associated documentation and records control is required. Experience with inventory control, maintenance data collection are desired.
