Position Summary

The Cloud Security Architect will lead the design and development of the DFIN cloud security strategies and architectures. This position will directly contribute to the overall global DFIN product and enterprise cloud security architecture and lead the security vision and strategy applicable to all types of cloud deployment models (including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), Public, Hybrid and Private Cloud). The Cloud Security Architect will serve as the central point of contact for DFIN Security for other Technology teams within the organization for all matters related to cloud security and will be reporting to Director of Security Technologies..


  • Design and develop security architectures for all types of cloud deployment models (including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), Public, Hybrid and Private Cloud).
  • Constantly maintain firm understanding of the native security controls and capabilities provided by the cloud providers (Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS primarily) and how they fit into DFIN cloud security strategy.
  • Design and develop cloud integration strategy for variety of security products such as LogRhythm, Radware DefensePro, Palo Alto Networks, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Anomali ThreatStream, Tanium, Empow Networks, EnCase, Rapid7 Nexpose and others.
  • Able to convert business requirements into sound cloud security architecture which would introduce minimal degree of risk to DFIN and would include appropriate security controls.
  • Acts as the ambassador and senior technical representative for DFIN Security while engaging with other senior technical leaders throughout organization in design and implementation of native and hybrid cloud based implementations and solutions.
  • Works with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product and Application Development teams to choose appropriate technology solutions and facilitates complete integration into the DFIN environments.
  • Develops standards in partnership with Engineering, Infrastructure Product and Application Development teams.


  • Bachelor degree with 10+ years of relevant work experience within Security Architecture and/or Engineering OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience and education
  • Strong knowledge across multiple information security domains
  • CISSP, GIAC, and other relevant certifications highly desired
  • Knowledge of risk assessment procedures, policy formation, role-based authorization methodologies, authentication technologies and cyber-attack techniques
  • Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes (secure software development, data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments
  • Working knowledge of industry standard cloud compatible authentication and RBAC enforcement mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, Azure AD, DUO MFA, RSA MFA, etc.)
  • Experience working with cloud security and governance tools such as cloud access security brokers (CASBs)
  • Scripting and web programming skills highly desired
  • Experience implementing, supporting, and/or maintaining PCI, ISO, AT101, and other security frameworks and certifications for medium and/or large enterprises
  • Technical proficiency in UNIX, DNS, Windows Server, Internet routing, TCP/IP protocols, Network technologies, and other foundational technology concepts
  • Ability to function as a respected subject matter expert and consultant to other IT and business groups
  • Self-driven, highly-motivated with a strong customer focus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid project management skills, especially in a cross-functional environment
  • Deep level knowledge of Security Incident & Event Management platforms
  • Expert-level knowledge of next-generation Firewall platforms, such as Palo Alto Networks
  • Advanced-level knowledge of intrusion detection and/or prevention systems
  • Proven knowledge of Threat Intelligence architectures and technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of cyber-attack techniques and exploits as well as mitigation strategies
