We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager--- a Full time permanent position in our Quality Assurance Department serving JFC North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs/projects to enhance and improve the Quality Systems of Red Ribbon Bakeshop, Jollibee and Chowking. S/he will lead/manage the quality assurance in all plants/commissaries including determining quality standards, specifications and procedures for all raw materials, finished goods and customer service. S/he will ensure all compliances of manufacturing and store operations on gold standards requirements, federal, state and local food laws, cost management, training/learning and development, including keeping up to date on new and global developments related to food quality and process management.
Typical responsibilities will include:
  • Plan and organize all activities of QA and delegates responsibilities and accountabilities to QA staff.
  • Prepare the department budget based on its programmed activities.
  • Report on departments activities and projects as required by top management.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of QA staff.
  • Develop and document QA systems and procedures.
  • Lead/manage the implementation of Quality Audit Systems in the plants, stores and third party facilities
  • Formulate solutions to food safety problems that arise regarding product and equipment.
  • Support/Reinforce/Implement appropriate progressive disciplinary process; ensure a productive labor climate in partnership with Human Resources Department.
  • Develop/Implement training programs on quality related issue.
  • Prepare department plans, objectives, goals, strategies and measures (OGSM)
Basic Qualifications:
  • Willing to travel and/or drive to other locations approximately 30% of the time for QA inspections, and possess a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Basic understanding of USDA and FDA disciplines and requirements.
  • Above average communication skills - preferably bilingual: English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of basic tests that are conducted in the quality evaluation of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Proficient or basic knowledge in USDA/FDA requirements.
  • Some understanding of organoleptic evaluation process.
  • Above- average planning and organization skills, detail-oriented and flexible/adaptable including in work schedules and assignments.
  • Computer Literacy : Proficient in MS Applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Outlook
  • Preferably with management/supervisory experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance/QC inspection in food manufacturing.
Technical Competencies/Knowledge Areas:
Food Manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, 5S, Quality Assurance or Food Safety, Safety in Workplace, Production Equipment Knowledge.
Job Requirements:
  • At least has completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food technology or any closely related field.
  • At least three (3) years demonstrated experience in quality assurance, quality assurance audit preferably in food manufacturing business; managing, collaborating and influencing people or teams preferably in the food manufacturing industry setting or equivalent combination of education & experience from which comparable knowledge, skills abilities have been achieved.
