Position Overview:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist and Electrophysiology Technology Training Program is a comprehensive educational initiative designed to equip radiology technologists with the specialized knowledge and skills required for a successful career in interventional radiology. This program integrates theoretical understanding, practical hands-on experience, and clinical training to prepare participants for the dynamic and evolving field of interventional radiology.

Key Components:

1. Didactic Training:

In-depth coursework covering essential principles of interventional radiology, anatomy, physiology, and radiographic imaging techniques.
Integration of cutting-edge advancements in interventional radiology technology and procedures.

2. Practical Skills Development:

Hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment
Proficiency in operating interventional radiology equipment, ensuring technical competence.
Skill development in sterile processing, anatomy, EKG, procedure review, pharmacology, hospital safety.

3. Clinical Rotations:

Structured clinical rotations in collaboration with accredited healthcare institutions.
Exposure to a diverse range of interventional radiology cases, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Mentorship from experienced interventional radiology technologists and collaboration with healthcare teams.

EDUCATION:

Other: Graduation from a Radiologic Technologist Program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire

OR ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire

RHF - Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days if required at the affiliate

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

General knowledge of interventional diagnostic principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.

Capable of performing routine interventional examinations as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.

General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS).

Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.

Ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).

Build collaborates relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Electrophysiology Technologist Requirements:

EDUCATION:

Other: Graduate of an accredited Electrophysiology Technology program

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

ARRT, RCIS or RCES is preferred

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

Department: Any Pediatrics, PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge in electrophysiology, including cardiac anatomy and physiology, and diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Demonstrated proficiency in recognition and interpretation of ECG's, and cardiac pathophysiology is required.

Knowledge of principles of radiation safety.

The incumbent will demonstrate the ability to operate a wide variety of physiologic monitors, recorders, ablation systems, programmers, pacemakers, and defibrillators.

Ability to trouble shoot instrumentation and demonstrate resourcefulness in problem-solving.

Pay Range is $59.03 to $73.78/hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
