Gigamon is seeking an experienced and talented individual to fill the Director of Sales Engineering role for North America Service Providers (SP). This role leads a team of accomplished Sales Engineers focused on sales to service provider customers across North America.

The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in service provider networking and prior experience managing technical teams. An ability to lead from the front and a willingness to act as both player and coach to help your team secure the technical win will be key to your success. Responsibilities: Work closely with Senior Sales Director (SSD) and Regional VP to create a strategy for the retention and growth of North America SP accounts.

Manage all aspects of the team, including hiring, coaching and development, regular 1:1 sessions, and annual reviews. Work collaboratively with other groups, such as Solution Engineering, Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product Management, to ensure the effective operation of your team, achieve the technical win, and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. Formulate and hold the team accountable for best practices for presentations, demos, proof of concepts, and customer feedback.

Work as an individual contributor for key accounts as needed or requested. Provides mentorship/guidance on technology and competitive trends to clients, partners, and employees. Ensure retention of technical relationships with Service Provider accounts Stay current with changing SP market and architectures.

Provide SP market insights to internal groups such as product management and engineering. Ensure the team is documenting and communicating non-standard feature requirements and creating entries in the feature request system to reflect customer requests. Communicate to leadership weekly on progress.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical area (Computer Science, Computer Engineering); or equivalent work experience. Experience in a Pre-Sales Engineering role in telecommunication, service provider, or network monitoring. Experience managing all aspects of the team, including hiring, coaching and development, regular 1:1 sessions, and annual reviews.

Relevant industry experience selling to or supporting service provider customers. Effective technical presentation skills. Excellent communication capabilities.

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $161,500 - $231,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices. Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Company's standard employee benefit programs, which currently include health insurance, health savings accounts, life, AD&D, disability, 401(k) plan with company matching contributions, paid time off (holidays, vacation, and sick), tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program (EAP), business travel accident insurance, employee discounts, and employee referral program.
