What you will be doing: As the new Director of Manufacturing, you will report directly to the CEO and play a key role with responsibility for scheduling, coordinating, planning and control of all assembly, brake press, punch press, turret, laser, spot weld and tool room operations, which includes: regular production orders, experimental/prototype orders, and re-work orders, and final assembly before shipment.

You will act as a liaison between manufacturing, engineering, sales and Quality Assurance and ensure maximum productivity and efficiency through coordination of associates work processes and assignments. Practically speaking, your duties will include: Supervisory Specific Duties:. Manage and oversee manufacturing operations and efficiencies for company's facilities at three locations Recommend and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvement ideas.

Recommend continuous improvement actions for improving work processes. Promote a clean and safe working environment at all facilities that complies with all company standards, OSHA regulations, ISO:14001 standards, and all other federal, state and local laws and regulations. Train employees on company policies.

Ensure, create and maintain an environment where compliance to all processes and procedures is a minimum job requirement. Train, coach and mentor the workforce. Complete employee performance reviews in a timely manner in an effort to further develop employees and monitor performance.

Keep the management team informed of all training needs and/or desires Promote a teamwork environment by conducting periodic meetings with all departmental employees. Monitor supplies for all department specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work with the Safety Manager and purchasing to order and replenish inventory levels. Establish initiatives for improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, good housekeeping and employee relations Production Specific Duties:.

Analyze work orders and blueprints to establish an efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, sequence of operations and the workforce Work with other production staff, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Executive Management to resolve any current or potential problems affecting the production schedule. Monitor inventory levels and communicate to purchasing the need for material required on up-coming projects in a timely manner. Review all new project release packages to verify that customer's specifications are achievable.

Participate in new-product-launch meetings. Support Engineering and Quality Assurance with technical advice to determine proper processes and quick solutions to problems. Provide feedback to Engineering and Quality Assurance for any process changes/process improvements.

Assist Quality Assurance with establishing inspection documents and procedures. Monitor production to ensure conformance with established processes and time standards to achieve desired results. Monitor machine maintenance, bringing forth any concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor Monitor scrap and rework in accordance with company standards.

Maintain organized and accurate documentation and timely reporting of all production activities. Monitor and enforce company housekeeping standards. Departmental Specific Duties:.

Monitor and measure machine performance for the assembly, brake press, punch press, turret, laser, spot weld, and tool room departments Be heavily involved in machine set-ups on all first-time projects and ensure all documentation is accurate for repeat orders. Establish production work rates, post expected production yields on all machines and monitor efficiency. Ensure that all operations are running efficiently in order to maximize production output and minimize excessive overtime.

Maintain perishable inventory by establishing min/max levels. Suggest and assist in proper material handling and storage in the department. Ensure proper program rev levels are being used The details: This is a permanent full-time management position.

10+ years working experience in a manufacturing or equipment processing environment with extensive experience in manufacturing processes, fabrication processes, environmental and safety processes 10 years of leadership and team management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Have a team player attitude that promotes commitment, reliability and follow through.

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Proven record of strong leadership and motivational skills coupled with sound decision making capabilities. Ability to resolve problems using logical, systematic and sequential approaches.

Ability to delegate responsibility and to work with others while coaching and developing their capabilities. Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental requirements in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Good computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and MRP Systems.

Solid understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to read and understand blueprints at an advanced level.
