We are launching our 2019 IT Internship Program as an opportunity for Interns to work with a company where technology is a key differentiator and gain experience in a corporate environment. We are looking for candidates to apply to the 2019 IT Internship Program who have an insatiable appetite to learn, a relentless focus on customer service, a technical curiosity toward future possibilities, and has creativity in solving business challenges with leading technologies. Throughout January-May 2019 we will work, grow, and learn together and will have fun in the process.

Information Security Compliance Intern

The HMH security team works to provide continuous improvements through prevention, detection, processes, and policies for customer and company information to maintain privacy and security. This role will also interact with IT, Legal and other business units to implement practices that meet defined policies and standards. The ideal candidate will have background and technical knowledge of information security, and the capability to understand complex business and technical processes. This position is located at HMH Headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in internal security assessments.
  • Provide responses to security and compliance enquiries.
  • Manage information security risk activities.

    Education and Experience:

  • Student attending a college or university in the Boston area at the Junior or Senior level.
  • Student working towards a BA or BS in Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, security standards and data protection regulations is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing) or will need to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.

Dates:

This internship position will exist through the 2019 Spring Semester. The student fulfilling this role will be available to assist HMH January through May 2019.
