Java Developer - Leading European Bank (Contract)

Location: Riga Country: Latvia Rate: £400-£450 per day

Java Developer - Leading European Bank

An exciting opportunity exists for x3 Backend/Core Java Developer's at a Leading European Bank. Our client is currently working on their largest transformation that aims for the whole bank to run entirely from the cloud- which will make them the first bank in Europe to achieve this. They are currently going through a number of structural changes and would require the Java Developer's to have strong core experience.

Location: Latvia, Riga

Duration: 6 months rolling

Daily Rate: £400 - £450 (All inclusive)


  • Being able to develop and contribute to the design of solutions
  • Being actively involved in all planning sessions and aiding task breakdown and estimation.
  • Understanding, and where necessary challenging requirements, to ensure the correct solution is designed and implemented.
  • Ensuring their code meets team standards
  • Being able to interrogate/analyse data to raise questions/edge cases with SMEs

Key Requirements:

  • Java programming language (v8+)
  • Following a test driven development (TDD) approach.
  • Developing on a microservices architecture and being familiar with concepts and design patterns for that development paradigm
  • Configuring CI software for automated testing and deployment of code.
  • Technologies typically used in microservice architectures just a grapghQL, Feign, Netflix Zuul, Kafka, Spring Boot
  • JUnit and surrounding advanced testing practices
  • Working with relational databases
