Programme & Portfolio Manager (Contract)

Location: South Manchester Country: UK Rate: £600.00 - £700.00 per day outside IR35
 

Programme & Portfolio Manager, IT Infrastructure Programmes, Aviation Sector.

Initial 3- month contract
£600-700 per day, Outside IR35
Hybrid working South Manchester - 3 days onsite

Our client is an established IT Managed Service provider, operating Globally. They provide Digital, Infrastructure, Cloud and Networking solutions to clients across a range of industry sectors.

They have a requirement for an end-client based in Manchester, for a Programme & Portfolio Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a portfolio of technology led business change programmes. The position will manage 4-7 direct reports and an annual budget of circa £50m.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ownership and management of a technology portfolio capital budget.
  • Accountability for the team's creation of project plans, covering the full project life cycle highlighting key milestone and dependencies, through to delivery and smooth implementation.
  • Governance: Driving continual improvement and maintaining the governance structure for effective decision making at all levels of the portfolio.
  • Reporting against plans to all stakeholders, providing transparency of delivery for assigned portfolio.
  • Resource Planning: Developing and managing project resource plans.

Suitable Experience:

  • Proven background managing complex IT infrastructure programmes across various work streams.
  • Extensive knowledge of technology infrastructure platforms and architecture (LAN, WLAN, Data Centre, Voice, Data cabling, CCTV, access control etc).
  • Large-scale business change experience.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking. Excellent analysis and insight capability to anticipate and plan for future.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, up to Exec level.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and coach a team.
  • Certification in PRINCE2, PMP, MoP or PPM
  • ITIL certification would be beneficial.
  • Experience working within the aviation industry is preferred.
