The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Excellence Delivery Lead to join a large-scale financial services organisation. This role focuses on driving the efficient delivery of complex technical projects and capabilities across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery, resource allocation, and improvement of complex technology initiatives using Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, define deliverables, and ensure successful project outcomes.

• Partner with software engineering, QA, product management, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and compliant solutions.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining control and governance standards.

• Manage vendor relationships and ensure third-party delivery to agreed expectations.

• Promote a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and improvement.

• Contribute to strategic planning, including budgets, resources, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex technology or software engineering projects.

• Strong experience with Agile/Scrum delivery (planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives).

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business domains.

• Demonstrated leadership experience - either as a team leader or senior individual contributor guiding delivery teams.

• Experience working within a regulated or financial services environment (desirable).

• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with change and transformation, risk & controls, and digital technology strategy.
