Senior Automation Test Engineer/£50-£55,000/Hybrid (Permanent)

Location: Bristol Country: UK Rate: £50k - £55k per annum + Hybrid, holiday and Pension
 

Job Overview:

As a pivotal member of our team, you'll take charge of ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of our technical solutions. Your role spans across testing new solutions, aiding in enhancements within agile delivery teams, and supporting our technical services team in resolving LIVE issues. A blend of manual and automated testing, coupled with root cause analysis, forms the basis of your responsibilities. You'll also collaborate with diverse teams, including project, training, adoption, and IT support, to demonstrate work to stakeholders and provide technical guidance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the testing strategy by providing hands-on expertise in functional, non-functional, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
  • Conduct manual and automated regression testing to safeguard existing functionality against new feature implementations.
  • Foster collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure quality assurance aligns with acceptance criteria and application/process understanding.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal development teams and partners to gauge their capabilities impact on quality assurance processes.
  • Offer feedback, advice, and informed opinions when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate technical issues to various stakeholders through demos, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Scripting languages (eg, C#) for test automation.
  • Experience utilising test automation tools like Cypress and Selenium.
  • Expertise in balancing manual and automated testing within the build process.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Peppermint CX365.
  • Competence in defect reporting and test management tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.

Additional Attributes:

  • Possession of relevant certifications like ISTQB is advantageous.
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies.
  • Clear communication of complex technical problems to stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce and maintain effective documentation.
  • Willingness to support user acceptance testing (UAT) and understand 3rd party applications.
  • Collaborative approach in understanding and questioning business requirements.
  • Proactive identification of areas for improvement in solutions.
  • Eagerness to learn and share knowledge within the team.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Support in guiding users to proficiency in application usage.
