Data Governance Consultant - Banking - Outside IR35

My client is looking for a Data Governance Consultant for a 4 month contract Outside IR35. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance within the banking industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, data quality management, and data protection. This role will be pivotal in enhancing the data governance framework and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Governance Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Policy Development: Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and quality across the organization.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239, and other industry standards. Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on data governance practices.

  • Data Quality Management: Implement and oversee data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and monitoring to maintain high data quality standards.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Risk Management, Compliance, and Business Units, to promote data governance awareness and ensure adherence to governance policies.

  • Data Stewardship: Support and guide data stewards across the organization in their roles and responsibilities related to data governance.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring robust controls are in place to protect sensitive information.

  • Training & Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on data governance policies and best practices.

  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and report on progress to senior management

Skills Required:

  • Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and practices.
  • Certification in data governance or related areas (eg, DAMA).

The role is a 4 month contract initially, it is a hybrid role, with 1 to 2 days a week in the office based in Central London office.

Rate is £500 a day Outside IR35.
