Stress Engineer (Contract)
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire Country: UK Rate: £40 - £45 per hour
NEW CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE WITH A LEADING AEROSPACE COMPANY FOR A STRESS ENGINEER
- Circa £40/ph inside IR35
- Initial 6-month contract
- Hybrid role based in Stevenage
- 37 hour working week
WHO WE ARE?
We are a globally recognized Aerospace and Defence company, looking to employ a Stress Engineer who specialises in Satellite or Aircraft projects. You'll be joining a team who work on the airworthiness and development of a variety of aircrafts and spacecrafts.
WHAT WILL THE STRESS ENGINEER BE DOING?
- Identifying all strength and stiffness requirements and ensure that they are valid.
- Completing structural analysis to ensure that all strength and stiffness requirements are met with a minimum mass design.
- Structural testing
- Monitoring tests and writing test assessments reports
- Writing other associated analysis documentation.
- Providing design support to the manufacturing teams to ensure that strength and stiffness requirements are met for all non-conformances to design with appropriate corrective action.
- Presenting strength and stiffness analyses, test requirements and assessments at formal design reviews.
WE NEED THE STRESS ENGINEER TO HAVE .
- A background in Aerospace Engineering
- Proficient in using external and internal software tools.
- An understanding of analysis techniques and methods for light weight structures
- Experience in MS Office, MSC Nastran
- Knowledge of MathCAD, Hypermesh (desirable)
- The ability to go through a BPSS check
